What is your passion? What drives you? Family, Your Spouse, Your Children, Hiking, Food, Boxing, Career??? What is it that you truly LOVE!?
Do you spend time in your life doing it, enjoying it, spending time with the people you love? Our world gets in the way toooooo easily of what really matters. Decide what truly matters to you and DO IT! If you can't then figure out why. Make changes in your life. Because without following your passion life is miserable and dull and you will be miserable. It is too hard to try to enjoy life when you aren't doing what you truly enjoy! My true passion is my family, however I have many passions. My family, my partner and my step daughters are my passion. That dictates what I do on a daily basis. I workout because it means that I can play volleyball with my girls, go for a walk in the summer, or enjoy the beach with them. I also workout because it means that I can hunt with my partner, enjoy our walks in the woods for tracking or to get to where we are hunting, so that I can river fish in the spring and fall, ice fish in the winter. All of these things are important to me. I could work 3 jobs and not really worry about these things. But what is life without these things? In my mind, nothing. This is why I have 1 job outside of my home and 2 at home. It means I can be home when my family is.. Cook them dinner, play Skipbo together, or watch a movie together.. These are the decisions and choices that I have made in my life.. I also workout for me.. Its my time for just me.. Or even a special few moments with one of the girls when they decide to workout with me.. Its a feeling, a release.. It helps me enjoy and live my life. <3 So what is your passion? It doesn't have to be the same as mine.. Everyones life is different and we all have different things in our lives that are important to us.. Find yours.. Figure out what you can do to make that happen.. Please comment and lets chit chat about what YOUR passion is! :) So living where I do.. Outdoors stuff is really the main entertainment! I've always loved hunting, skiing, walks, hikes, camping, kayaking/canoeing, pretty much anything outdoors.. But for a long time I found it hard to do some of these things.. Largely because I was overweight and in a lot of pain. Up until this winter I wouldn't even consider trying to ski.. It was just too hard and too painful.. But I am going to get my butt back out there this year! By working out daily and drinking Shakeology daily, I've gotten my body more under control and I can get back to the things I LOVE doing! This is so exciting and so important to me!
If you would like to know how I got my life back.. Or if you are ready to take your life back and get back to doing the things you love, whatever they might be.. Send me a message.. Add me as a friend Ashleigh McDaniel on Facebook.. I would love to help you get your life back! I'm back! Life has been incredibly insane and honestly out of control. I've totally stayed on track with my own fitness journey but have fallen away a bit from what I truly love doing which is helping others on their journey and finding people who need help on their journeys or getting started. I am taking my life back! Changing some priorities and am here to stay! So what kinds of things would you like to know more about?? Gluten? Protein? Veggies? What do you struggle with? Over my almost a year of being a Fitness Coach for Beachbody I have come across a lot of misunderstandings about health and fitness.. The first and most common.. Starving yourself to lose weight.. You need to eat food.. Especially when you are working out.. The average caloric intake recommended for men from age 19-30 is between 2,400 and 2,800. 31-50 2,200 to 2,600. The average caloric intake recommended for women age 19-30 is between 2,000 and 2,400 calories daily. 31-50 are recommended 1,800 to 2,200 per day and women over 51 are recommended 1,600 to 2,200 daily. These numbers vary because of your activity.. If you are very active (i.e. working out) go on the high end of the scale.. If you are not active then go on the low end of the scale. You can adjust these numbers by 200 calories either way to find what works for your body to lose or maintain weight. But never go below, 1,200 calories for women and 1,800 for men, as you can end up with deficiencies. I was SHOCKED to say the least when I started working out and having problems with losing weight found that I was eating WAY below what I should have been calories wise. I couldn't believe how much food you actually need to be eating! The trick is eating the right calories. I mean you can eat fried chicken and pie to your hearts content and get to your caloric intake for the day.. But you won't lose weight.. So what are the right calories? What should I be eating? Veggies Fruit Whole Grains Lean Proteins (Chicken, Fish, Lean Beef, Lean Pork, Sea Food) Stay away from White bread Refined Sugars (in a LOT of food so keep an eye open) Anything processed If you look at it makes sense. :) And of course your portions make a different too. ;) So educate yourself! Don't just listen to all the rumors and crap people are spreading around! Do some research and figure out the right way to do it! Make a LIFESTYLE change don't diet!
I want to talk about how important it is to have support when you are working out. There are a lot of reasons why this is important. Working out should be a lifestyle change not just a temporary fix to your weight loss problems. So lets think about this.. How can you make a lifestyle change without your family being in it with you!? Your special someone needs to be a part of that lifestyle change with you.. And you should involve your children in the changes too! Encourage them to workout with you! And of course you shouldn't be cooking two meals (one for you and one for them).. Thats just silly! Of course you cannot force anyone to join you in your journey. If they aren't ready then you just have to do what you have to do for yourself and your family. They will get to that place when they see how much better you feel and how much happier/healthier you are! Just remember to be patient. :) No matter what support is key... Someone you can be completely open with about your journey.. Someone you can go to when you don't feel like working out that can help lift you up.. And often you can still get support from your loved ones even if they haven't joined you.. This is KEY to your success! If you feel alone and don't have anyone to turn to you are likely to give up and we definitely do not want that to happen! This is something that I fell INLOVE with when I started Beachbody. I hadn't done any kind of working out since high school. And this was a BIG step for me.. So when I signed up I was given a coach.. Whom I never heard from.. But then this amazing coach found me.. And has been such a huge part of my success.. She has always been there for me! And I have always had the support from my man.. He is always there to listen to me complain and has always been by my side. We have made the Nutritional changes in our lives as a whole family.
I as a coach am here for you for a lot of reasons. Not only for your support but to answer your questions and for you to talk to about things you may not feel comfortable sharing with anyone. No matter the situation I am here. Never underestimate how important it is to have SOME KIND of support for your journey.. There are many keys to your success and this is one of them! Salmon is super yummy and super good for you! It is rich in Omega-3's. Which helps your body in many ways! Including helping to protect your heart again disease, fight against Alzheimer's, and stroke! (Just to name a few) And let me tell you, I have experience with all of those things in members of my family.. If there is anything I can do to fight against them I will! Omega-3's are also said to to help with fetal development and brain function for all ages! AND can help reduce blood pressure! How great is that?! :)
Besides the fact that it helps you in so many ways! It is easy to prepare and tastes delicious! I will be eating it a lot more often from now on! How about you? Click here for a great Salmon recipe! I want to talk to you about Diet Pop... More specifically Aspartame.. This is a subject that is very close to my heart for a lot of reasons.. And I am about to explain why... Okay so how many of us have had these products thinking that we are going to lose weight? And that these are better for us then drinking regular pop??? NOT SO... I'm not going to say regular pop is good for you.. Its not.. But its less worse for you then these are! Lets first look at the ingredients that are common in all of the above products. - Aspartame - Defined as - an artificial sweetener made from aspartic avid; used as a calorie-free sweetener
Sounds pretty harmless just from that doesn't it? Until you start looking deeper.. Aspartame was found by accident in 1965.. James Schlatter, a chemist, was testing a anti-ulcer drug. Aspartame accounts for over 75% of the reported to the FDA adverse reactions to food additives. Symptoms that have been reported have include: Headaches, Migraines, Dizziness, Seizures, Nausea, numbness, muscle spasms, weight gain (WAIT WHAT?????), rashes, depression, fatigue, irritability, tachycardia, insomnia, vision problems, hearing loss, heart palpitations, breathing difficulties, anxiety attacks, slurred speech, loss of taste, tinnitus, vertigo, memory loss, and last but not least join pain. Starting to seem a bit scary right? Wait theres more.. Researchers and Physicians that are studying the adverse effects of aspartame have found that these chronic illnesses can be triggered and worsened by aspartame. Brain tumors, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, chronic fatigue syndrome, parkinson's disease, alzheimer's, mental retardation, lymphoma, birth defects, fibromyalgia, diabetes, and cancer. But wait there is even more.. Aspartame is 40% Aspartic Acid. Dr Blaylock, a professor of neurosurgery at the Medical University of Mississippi published a book thoroughly detailing the damage that is caused by ingesting aspartic acid from aspartame. He used almost 500 scientific references to show how excess free excitatory amino acids such as aspartic acid and glutamic acid (99% Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) is glutamic acid) that we are eating in our daily diets are causing neurological disorders and many other acute symptoms. Aspartate and glutamate act as neurotransmitters, excessive amount of these free radicals kill cells. Basically they excite or stimulate the neural cells to death. Excess of glutamate and aspartate slowly destroy neurons can contribute to chronic illnesses such as; Multiple sclerosis (MS), ALS, Memory Loss, Hormonal Problems, Hearing Loss, Epilepsy, Alzheimer's Disease, Parkinson's Disease, Hypoglycemia, AIDS, Dementia, Brain Lesions, and Neuroendocrine Disorders. So why WHY I ask is this stuff being consumed by millions of people around the world? Why does the FDA allow companies to use these products? I can't tell you why the FDA hasn't done anything.. But we are pulled in by companies making it look like its healthy.. By making it sound like its better for you because it is "diet" and of course because it doesn't have sugar its totally good for you! Please don't just take everything at first impression.. Read.. Educate yourself.. LEARN.. Because it might just save your life and someone else's.. Like I said this is a subject that is very close to my heart.. My Grandfather.. Who had artificial sweeteners and drank diet coke as long as I can remember was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease a few years ago and had been having problems for over 5 years.. He passed away a few weeks ago.. I'm not telling you this because I want sympathy.. I don't.. I want you to understand the importance.. I'm not just telling you these things because it is something I have read about.. It is something I have seen take affect and hurt people.. Say no..
